EGM Reed Elsevier NV appoints Supervisory Board member

Reed Elsevier NV announced today that at an Extraordinary General Meeting of Shareholders (EGM), held in Amsterdam on 3 September 2009, a resolution to appoint Mr Ben van der Veer RA as a member of the Supervisory Board was approved with immediate effect.
As previously announced on 13 August 2009, Mr Van der Veer has also been appointed as a non-executive director of Reed Elsevier PLC and of Reed Elsevier Group plc and as a member of the audit committees with effect from 3 September 2009.
The EGM also approved a partial amendment of the articles of association of the company. These amendments are of a technical nature.
