“Supporting your Success” is a much used phrase at Reed Business in the Netherlands. We offer our employees the scope to realise their ambitions and an audience that will appreciate their achievements. We offer our users the information they need to excel in their work. We guarantee our advertisers the highest return on their investment.
Over the last 100 years we have adapted and evolved as a company to meet the changing needs of our customers and the challenges of a fiercely competitive media marketplace. We know that we have to be innovative and entrepreneurial to retain our competitive advantage.
Our publishing priorities, for example, have changed significantly over the last few years and we’ve moved away from being largely print based. We now offer an eye catching array of media products and communication and information tools, both on paper and online. To do this successfully we have had to stay sharp, curious, creative and tenacious. We constantly experiment with new concepts and ideas, we learn from our customers and international best practices and we continue to develop our existing products.
Working at Reed Business means working in a company where you can realise your ambitions. The phrase “Supporting Your Success” also underpins our personnel policy. Employees can count on support in their development and career planning.
Reed Business employs 1,500 professionals in the Netherlands in various disciplines.
When you apply for a job with us you will probably come across Annelien Jordense and Floor van Dam – our two main recruiters. They will make sure your CV matches the profile of the job you’ve applied for and, if it does, they’ll invite you for an initial conversation. If that goes well you’ll go on to meet your prospective manager then be invited to take an e-assessment and meet members of the team you might work for.
We’ll let you know within a couple of weeks if we are interested in your CV. We may keep it on file in case another suitable post comes up in the company and we might invite you to come and talk to us even if there is no suitable post right away.
Once you start working with us you’ll find that our business culture is open and informal. But we do adhere very strongly to the five core values of Reed Elsevier. These values determine how we think and how we act. They are:
Customer focus – in everything that we do the customer comes first.
- Valuing our people – recruiting, developing and retaining outstanding people; recognising and rewarding talent
- Passion for winning – we are determined to outperform the competition.
- Innovation – innovation, change and improvement are our guiding principles: things can always be improved on. Entrepreneurship, taking risks and learning from mistakes are all part of this.
- Boundarylessness – we encourage our people to aim high and learn from others both inside our own company and within the wider Reed Elsevier Group.
